Our best bits - A round up of 2015

14th December, 2015

Round up all

It’s been a very busy year for our studio and creative team so we thought we’d take a moment to reflect on a few of our best bits from 2015.

1. BAA Mobile App – Great project, great client.

We have really enjoyed working on this project. Being the first mobile App we’ve developed allowed us to experiment with the functionality and take a simplified approach to the design to ensure a clean, sharp user experience.

James headed up the project; “It has been great fun working with BAA throughout the year - having refreshed their brand and designed & built their new website. It’s been really rewarding to watch their brand and digital presence grow.”

2. Brighton Summit – making changes

The theme for this years’ Brighton summit was all about inspiring growth and creativity in the workplace. We certainly came away feeling inspired and as a result have taken a good look at our own company culture and how we can improve our own and approach to creativity in the studio.

We will also be addressing our workspace in the office and studio to make it far more comfortable and productive for our team and our clients. Paint brushes at the ready!

3. Qcel Video – Storyboarding fun.

Another fantastic project of 2015, our graphic designer Fiona loved working on this job so we asked her to sum up her best bits. “This project was hugely rewarding for me as I got to see the project right through from my original concepts to completion. I particularly enjoyed the storyboarding phase and I had full rein over our blackboard too so it was great to scribble and sketch my ideas out.”

Here’s hoping we will be have a few more animation projects to play with in the New Year.

4. Elford's in the house!

He has only been with us a couple of months but Steve has already become part of the Nexus furniture. Not only has he brought with him his brilliant expertise, he has also brought some good tea making skills and often has us chuckling in the studio. Safe to say we are all looking forward to working on many more exciting web development projects in the New Year with Steve.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Steve for being a good sport with the Stelf the Elf campaign. We promise not to make you dress up as an elf in 2016.

5. Exhibitions – Out & about

We can safely say 2015 was year of getting out and about for the Nexus team. We attended a number of local events such as Brighton SEO, Brighton Digital festival and Responsive Day out to name just a few.
We also exhibited at Let’s Do Business Eastbourne and Hasting and made many great connections in the local area.

We look forward to exhibiting at a number of other events throughout 2016.

6. Festive fun with Stelf the Elf!

As we are still in full Christmas swing, it would be rude not to mention our Christmas campaign “Find Stelf the Elf”. The competition has definitely been well received in the run up to the festive season. We have already had a brilliant up take in entrants to the draw.

A big thanks again to Graham Carter for lending his time and for creating the wonderful elf illustrations of Stelf.

There is still time to play so pop over here for a few clues on where Stelf is hiding on the website.

7. A big thank you

As a roundup to our year, I would like to personally thank the Nexus team for their hard work and support this year. Also, a huge thank you to all our lovely clients for making 2015 so enjoyable.

We are really looking forward to 2016 and there may be some new faces to introduce you to, so watch this space!

Wishing you all a very happy and healthy Christmas and a prosperous and fun New Year.
