90 yr. old British Para veteran takes to the skies in name of Cancer Research

Fredrick Glover (aka John) is to take on one more skydive to celebrate his 90th birthday. In an effort to welcome this important milestone in his life Fredrick will also be raising money for Cancer Research UK, a charity that is of special importance to him.

As a member of the 9th battalion Parachute Regiment Fredrick took part in the D-day assault in the Second World War. After being wounded in both legs, Fredrick was initially taken prisoner however with the aid of the French resistance, he managed to escape. After several months in hospital he was able to re-join his battalion and went on to take part in the Ardennes offensive and Rhine crossing.

His inspiring story has encouraged many of his friends and family to donate to the cause - and when our team heard about his amazing efforts we couldn’t help but share! Fredrick intends to jump on the August bank holiday weekend so please visit his Just-Giving page here and donate whatever you can.

Here’s to a smooth landing and a very happy 90th Birthday Fred!
